Picture the shape, then stop
After the last table leaves, the dining room goes quiet and the receipt is still on the pass. One number at the bottom is easy to spot. It is the wrong marker for a service that sold food, poured a drink, sold a gift card, and collected a tip. The feeling on this page is that quiet. The night is over, and the file has not caught up.
Imagine one sales receipt for a whole service. Food, alcohol consumed on the premises, a gift card, and tips are collapsed into one income account. The card batch is still open, waiting for a deposit that can never match because the fee was never its own line. The papers in that picture are a composite. No guest count. No dollar amount we invented for a client. The picture is built so it cannot be traced to a single dining room.
What the picture is asking you to notice
The relief is four items where one line used to be, each with a name the return can already read. Food aimed at the sales tax return. A drink consumed at the table aimed at its own liabilities, often a filing the food return does not carry. The gift card aimed at a liability until redemption. The voluntary tip aimed at tips payable until it is paid out through the provider you already run.
We see this shape in years when the file is still open and a filed month has not been locked. The closing date is the next sentence after the items, because a correct item inside a filed month creates a second problem. When your own Saturday looks like that composite, send the receipt the picture is describing. When it does not, send the receipt you actually have.
The pale table in the picture is not a dining room we claim. It is a blank surface so the four objects can be seen without a logo or a check average. The pale table holds no client papers and no check average.
What we will not add to the picture
No hourly menu. No promise about how many weeks the work takes. The objects that set a figure are the daily receipts, the open batches, gift-card items pointed at income, alcohol inside the sales tax center, and months past the closing date. Those get counted before a figure is named.
If the picture is yours
If the picture is yours, send the receipt. If it is not, send the one you have.
You will be talking to the Steven Palmieri practice.
